The St John's Day is the big festival o Oporto. A wind of madness blows over the city. People go down town, send messages in balloons that end in flames and go in the streets with plastic martels for beating heads met on their way. The great houses of Port wine organise a regatta of "barcos rabelos", the old boats which used to carry the wine on the Douro river.
