The quays of Gaia have a great panoramic view on the oldest part of Oporto.
Most of the houses of Port Wine are settled in Gaia and some of them on the quays. You can visit them and have a free tasting of various types of Port: ruby, tawny, vintage.
The quays became the principal port of departure and arrival of the boats operating sightseeing cruises on the Douro river. They are now a very animated place, with shops, restaurants huge and modern, or small, antiques and typical and a big parking.
